While it's almonst hard to believe after how good Lamy's '06s were, he's done even better in 2007. these wines offer incredible quality for the price.

2007 St. Aubin "Les Castets" 1er red 88
2007 St. Aubin "Derrière Chez Edouard - Vieilles Vignes" 1er red 90

Olivier Lamy calls 2007 a "very precocious vintage and given how early it started, I originally thought that we might harvest around the 20th of August. Unfortunately, during the summer it seems like only the weekends were nice, which means that there wasn't much rest during the growing season. Given that St. Aubin always picks later than other villages, we didn't start picking the reds until September 5th and by then, the pinot was very ripe as we brought in fruit with sugars that averaged 13%, which is especially ripe for St. Aubin. Another reason that we had the maturities that we did is because yields were only between 25 and 28 hl/ha. Because the fruit was quite ripe, I did a normal vinification but that's partially because with the appellations that I have, I always do a relatively soft vinification. Overall, I like the '07 reds because they're quite pure and have plenty of personality. I think they will be liked by both burg lovers and wine lovers." 2007 St. Aubin - Le Paradis: (two-thirds of this blend is from young vine 1ers). A notably ripe and almost aggressively earthy nose introduces concentrated, rich and mouth coating flavors that are delicious and fresh. A solid villages. 87/2010+
2007 Santenay "Clos des Hâtes": (from 50+ and 10+ year old vines - the young vines are planted on riparia rootstock and produce very tiny berries). This is also quite ripe yet very fresh with red berry fruit, earth and a touch of underbrush that can also be found on the round, generous and equally delicious flavors that possess a bit finishing depth. This is not an elegant wine, indeed it's on the rustic side yet there is good character and I like the effusive personality. 88/2011+
2007 Chassagne-Montrachet "La Goujonne - Vieilles Vignes": (50+ year old vines). A classic Chassagne nose evidences pepper and earth infused wild red berry, in particular currants, that slides into robust, tautly muscled and relatively dense flavors that possess an attractive texture though at present, the finish is mildly astringent. 87/2011+
2007 St. Aubin "Les Castets": A much more elegant nose of fresh and airy red and blue pinot fruit cut with notes of violet and rose petal merges into rich, pure and beautifully detailed flavors that are balanced and solidly persistent on the moderately austere finish where a hint of minerality surfaces. A very pretty and low key effort. 88/2012+
2007 St. Aubin "Derrière Chez Edouard - Vieilles Vignes": (from 50+ year old vines). This is virtually always the best red in the range and the 2007 is no exception with a slightly riper and more deeply pitched nose of dark berry fruit, earth wet stone and a hint of floral character that complements the rich and impressively concentrated medium-bodied flavors that also possess the best complexity of the group, all wrapped in a sappy finish which displays well integrated tannins. 90/2013+
